Howdy, Y'all   My name is BobbieJo Jackson. I'm a Southern gal and a "Gen-Xer". I'm a registered independent with a leaning that's slightly right of center. I am not a member of what is now called "the alt-right", nor do I ever plan to be.

 

I never used to think that being from the generation I'm part of as much of a "thing" until the next generation came along. That's right... "The Milennials".

I quickly realized this generation had a very different mindset than my generation. They were politically active. Very active. And they all seemed to have a certain sense of entitlement that far  surpassed even the most entitled people from mine.

​

I soon learned that the common names for these people was "Social Justice Warriors" (SJWs) and "Third Wave Feminists" (Feminazis) and I didn't know much about them at first. It didn't take long. by the time the year 2012 rolled along I'd learned a whole lot more. I'm sorry to say that the more I learned, the more I knew I didn't agree with them.

I grew up in a family full of Democrats, so the year that I became eligible to vote, of course I went along with the family party line. I voted for Barack Obama in 2008. I really bought into the whole "hope and change" thing. By 2010, I wanted my vote back.

You'll learn more about me as I embark on this journey as (I guess) a blogger. I have no idea how this will work out, but I need a place to say what I'm thinking and 140 characters just hasn't been cutting it for me. Especially now, in 2017, when (at least in my opinion) the world and our Republic seem to have lost their way.
